Mrs. Alicia Kastner Hempen – Ms. Kastner began her martial arts training over 20 years ago. She opened Family Taekwondo in 1992 as a 2nd Degree Black Belt and a 20 year old college student. She graduated from Rutgers College in 1993 with a degree in Exercise Science. Ms. Kastner is now a Master Instructor who has been certified by the United States Taekwondo Alliance and Taekwondo America. She is a 6th Degree Black Belt, making her one of very few 6th Degrees in the country. She recently completed the Ultimate Black Belt Test (www.ultimateblackbelttest.com) which was a worldwide advanced program for Black Belts. Since opening her school she has taught thousands of students and has promoted over 100 to the rank of Black Belt. 2011 marks the 19 year anniversary of Family Taekwondo.
Mr. Robert Stuart – Mr. Stuart has been a student at Family Taekwondo for the past 10 years. He is a 2nd Degree Black Belt. Mr. Stuart is currently pursuing his teaching degree at Georgian Court University. He teaches the Saturday morning Taekwondo classes at Family Taekwondo.
Ms. Janet Brown – Ms. Brown began her Taekwondo training with Ms. Kastner when she was 6 years old. Since then she has reached the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor. Ms. Brown is currently attending Ramapo College. On her breaks from school she teaches at Family Taekwondo.
Mrs. Karen Jarosz (not pictured) – Mrs. Jarosz has been training at Family Taekwondo since 1999. She is a 3rd Degree Senior Black Belt and a Certified Instructor. Mrs. Jarosz is also an elementary school teacher who has her Master’s in Education and is also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher.
